Welcome to Mirabelle!
The
Mirabelle subdivision is a community of 190 single family patio homes
in northeast Pensacola close to Escambia Bay in Escambia County,
Florida. It's a diverse community
where people of different races, nationalities and religions
(even
no religion) come together to form a real neighborhood. It's a place
where people not only say "Hi" when they see one another, it's a place
where you'll find yourself stopping to chat.
Mirabelle is a
quiet* and
safe neighborhood --- where children can play in the
street and people can walk day or night. Mirabelle has people of all
ages, singles and families. Because these are patio homes with an
average lot of only 0.12 acres, there is a high proportion of seniors.
One of the nice aspects of life in Mirabelle
is the 1.19 acre private
park
with picnic tables at the main entrance exclusively for Mirabelle
residents. Many of the neighborhood functions are held in the
park.

*Mirabelle and Airfields
Mirabelle is quiet in the neighborhood, not in the skies. For anyone
considering
Mirabelle, it's important to know that, like much of Pensacola,
Mirabelle is on an airport
flight
path, the Pensacola International Airport
(formerly the Pensacola Gulf Coast Regional Airport and renamed to
"International" in 2011 even though the only way
you'll get
an international flight is if you have your own
private plane). Mirabelle is on its
landing
path. Pensacola has five airfields. Much of east Pensacola
is on the flight path of the commercial airport. West
Pensacola has four airfields. There are two small general aviation
airfields: Ferguson Airport 82J and Coastal Airport
83J. The loudest flights are military with
two military airfields: Naval Air Station Pensacola and
Naval Outlying Field Saufley Field. Naval Air Station Whiting Field is
outside the nearby town of Milton and has many
outlying airfields throughout
the vicinity. Pensacola, the "Cradle of Naval Aviation," is used to
train
military
aviators, so
flights among the airfields are common. If avoiding airplane
noise
is a priority, northwest Pensacola is the best bet. Airplane noise
varies greatly --- moving a couple of
blocks in one direction or the other can make a big difference. If it's
important, then be sure to ask in the neighborhood about the level of
plane noise. (Do not depend upon a realtor or rental agent.)
